Well, pricing is not an exact science. Of course, you can do simple math to cover the basics and have some profit, but it is not just that; when pricing something, we are actually talking about how much that particular item is worth, and that, my friend, is a totally different story.
Especially when we are talking about a ‘product’ like mine, which comes from a very personal production, where I put my creativity, time, manual labour, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears... How much is it worth?
Also, the way I see it, jewellery is a co-creation thing. I bring an idea into reality, and you translate it into how and where you decide to wear it.
We are in this together. So, deciding the price together seems fair. Don’t you think?
Minimum price - it covers the production cost for the piece and the essential cost for running the studio, so I can keep it open.
Suggested price - it covers the production cost for the piece and the costs of running the studio; it also allows me to have a profit to invest in creating new jewellery and ideas.
Ideal price - it covers everything. It is what I believe it is worth.

ABOUT THE JEWELLERY
I created this piece to challenge the very definition of worth.
For the Unreal exhibition with the Dialogue Collective, I wanted to strip a ring of its primary function: wearability. I created this piece using gold leaf, balanced on brass wire on a concrete base and encased within a glass dome,
It is beautiful, but it is unreachable. You cannot wear it.
This invites the question: If a ring cannot be worn, does it still have value? What happens when a symbol of wealth is rendered useless, nonfunctional, or unreachable? Is it real? And does it matter?
The Experiment: Choose Your Price. To complete this artwork, I need you to define its worth. I do not dictate the final price, you do. I have created 3 tiers for you to choose from:
- Minimum: Covers the raw production costs and studio essentials so I can keep the lights on.
- Suggested: Covers production and allows me a modest profit to reinvest in new materials.
- Ideal: The true artistic value. This supports my practice and future exhibitions.
You are not just buying a sculpture; you are participating in a conversation about value, art, and the stories we tell ourselves.
